A comprehensive and dynamic plan for the Humber Cluster to achieve NetZero by 2040
Get InvolvedThe Humber Industrial Cluster Plan will provide confidence to the UK government’s ambitions, encompassing how industrial emissions will change over time and provide the region's projects and industry with a well-defined, optimal route to achieving true net-zero in 2040. The Humber region emits more CO2 than any other UK industrial cluster – 50% more than the next largest – thus providing us with the largest opportunity. We will harness the collaborative power of regional industry to showcase the way forward to a low carbon future.

To be able to understand the optimal approach to getting Humber industry to net zero by 2040, we have developed a Humber industry energy systems model, able to cut through the clutter of uncertainty and changing conditions, which can provide forecasts of our future decarbonisation pathway out to 2040. We’ve used this model to identify four different pathways which give us confidence that our industries can reach net zero by 2040 and that the pathways we are already working on are the right ones.
